The Gdansk Municipality holds 100% of the shares in Gdańska Agencja Rozwoju Gospodarczego Sp. z o.o.
The legal basis for the operation of Gdańska Agencja Rozwoju Gospodarczego Sp. z o.o. is:
- The Code of Commercial Companies (Journal of Laws 2020, item 1526, consolidated text),
- Resolution no. XXX_846_08_RMG of 27 November 2008 on: expressing the intention of the Gdansk Municipality to establish a commercial company under the name Gdańska Agencja Rozwoju Gospodarczego Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością.

The main task of Gdańska Agencja Rozwoju Gospodarczego Sp. z o.o. (hereinafter the Agency) is to meet the needs of the local community (in accordance with Art. 7(1), points 1, 2, 3 and 18 of the Act of 8 March 1990 on Municipal Self-Government) through:
- creating conditions for economic activation, and in particular attractive conditions for investors to undertake and conduct business activity,
- sustainably reducing unemployment (in accordance with Art. 3(1) of the Act of 20 April 2004 on Employment Promotion and Labour Market Institutions),
- promoting the attractiveness of the Gdansk Municipality among investors and promoting employment in knowledge-based economy sectors (in accordance with Art. 7(1)(18) of the Act on Municipal Self-Government),
- providing the necessary infrastructure and managing investment sites transferred to the Agency by the Gdansk Municipality and other entities in order to attract new investments (in accordance with Art. 7(1)(1, 2 and 3) of the Act on Municipal Self-Government),
- professional advisory services for the Gdansk City self-government in attracting and supporting investors, and supporting educational initiatives carried out by the Gdansk local self-government, addressed to the future workforce of investment projects implemented in Gdansk (in accordance with Art. 10(3) of the Act of 20 December 1996 on Municipal Economy),
- conducting other activities important for the development of the Gdansk Municipality, in this case having a significant impact on the socio-economic development of the municipality (in accordance with Art. 10(2) of the Act of 20 December 1996 on Municipal Economy).
The Agency will carry out the above tasks through:
- attracting new investment projects implemented in Gdansk by foreign and domestic investors and providing them with comprehensive support,
- investment projects implemented on properties transferred to the Agency as a contribution in kind, including, in the initial period, two large strategic projects: the Pomeranian Logistics Centre (which will cover an area of approx. 210 ha located in the Northern Port) and the “Maszynowa” Industrial and Technology Park (which will cover an area of approx. 51 ha located in the Gdansk-Kokoszki district),
- taking actions aimed at developing and providing a workforce for the modern economy, primarily for new investment projects, through scholarship programmes, training, etc.
