The Report of UNCTAD shows that the year 2009 was disastrous in terms of inflow of new foreign investments. At this time Poland received 11,3mld USD of new investments. While investment in Poland fell by 22%, in the 10 new EU countries with which Poland is competing for new investment projects, the decrease was up to 54%.

The Council of Ministers decided on the meeting, held on 21 July 2010, to co-financing foreign investments to ensure further growth in employment and economic development in different Polish regions. A Spanish company Geoban dedicated to servicing banks will receive the amount of 1,6 mln PLN. Obtained funds will be invested in the launch of service centers in Gdynia and Wroclaw, which provided 477 new jobs, of which 381 places for persons with higher education.

In June and July this year a group of five Pomeranian companies participated in the economic mission to California, organized by the Gdansk Economic Development Agency and Pomeranian Special Economic Zone (PSEZ).
NEW GAS POWER PLANT RISING

Energa Gdansk plans to build a gas power plant with a capacity of 800 MW. The investment worth 4 mld PLN will be realized in cooperation with the Irish Company ESB International. The location for a new power plant is GrudziÄ…dz. According to Energa, such an investment is needed in order to develop wind energy.
